Vive L’Amour, directed by Taiwanese filmmaker Tsai Ming-liang, is widely regarded as one of his defining works. With akeen eye for urban life, Tsai vividly captures the yearning for love among young people in 1990s Taipei, as well as the gradual erosion of traditional family bonds. The film’s rigorously minimal style—featuring fewer than a hundred lines of dialogue and a deliberate absence of intrusive music—exposes the loneliness and spiritual emptiness that permeate the city.
The two poster designs reflect this sensibility in distinct ways, each employing expansive darkness and ample negative space to create its atmosphere. Visual motifs, such as Hsiao-kang peering from a doorway or hiding along a stairwell,further emphasize the film’s unflinching exploration of urban solitude.
《愛情萬歲》為臺灣導演蔡明亮所執導的電影，也是他的代表作之一。導演以最擅長的都市觀察，生動且貼切地展現了90年代台北年輕都會男女對愛情的渴望與家庭意義的蕩然無存。片中極度簡約而低限的電影語言，以不到一百句的對白和捨棄嘈雜的配樂，深刻反映台北人心靈寂寞、精神空虛的生活。
